Takeda: a return to familiar territory. At a higher level.

When the precision of Japanese philosophy is combined with Czech creativity, the result is a space that heals with its calmness. Takeda, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, turned to CAPEXUS again after several years to give its Prague offices a makeover. It was not a case of starting from scratch, but rather a sensitive redesign that builds on the original implementation while taking it to the next level. The result is a harmonious interior full of light, natural materials, and Japanese-inspired details, where biophilia, art, and modern technology meet.

A new rhythm of work

The project brought not only a new layout, but also a new rhythm of work. Closed offices have given way to a more open space that breathes freedom and encourages natural collaboration. Wood, stone, and greenery play a role in a delicately balanced composition, complemented by subtle lighting design and acoustic comfort.

Slatted passageways with integrated LED lighting, cloud-like light fixtures, and a large green wall at the reception create an environment that is both representative and calming. The aim was to create a place that promotes concentration and collaboration, while naturally reflecting the company's Japanese roots – respect for order, detail, and balance.
The living breath of the interior

The interior is based on a combination of natural materials, high-quality lighting, and sophisticated acoustics. Wood and stone meet soft shades of gray, complemented by green accents from live and artificial plants. The dominant feature is large vertical greenery from Jungle Interiors, which brings a piece of the living world into the office. The biophilic elements are not mere decoration — they connect the space, soften the acoustics, and create a sense of calm.
Japanese poetry of space

The offices are complemented by atypical Japanese-themed elements, such as slatted passageways with integrated LED lighting, which have become a distinctive motif of the interior.
Light fixtures with a plastic shape reminiscent of floating clouds add lightness and poetry to the space. Open ceilings in a uniform light gray spray paint alternate with acoustic islands above workstations, which also carry technology. The result is a functional yet visually calm environment.

Every piece has meaning

The furniture combines standard elements with atypical ones. The interior features the Noom 30 collection from Actiu, SilentLab telephone booths, and solutions from Verti, which fit naturally into the overall concept. Every piece has its place and purpose here, supporting the fluidity of the space and the comfort of employees.
Coordination down to the last detail

An interesting aspect of the project was that the original space plan was prepared by another company, yet CAPEXUS's design was harmoniously integrated into the given framework. The challenge was the number of atypical details that required precise coordination with suppliers and careful implementation. Despite the tight schedule, everything was completed on time – without compromising on quality or aesthetics.Architect Jakub Majtás, who was also behind the original design, had the opportunity to build on his earlier work this time around:

It was wonderful to return to the space after all these years and develop it further. We managed to take the already beautiful existing interior to the next level and show that, just like trends and technology, we are constantly moving forward in our designs.
New life for a familiar place

Takeda's new offices represent evolution, not revolution. They are proof that even a familiar space can be revitalized in a new way — all it takes is to listen sensitively to the rhythm of the place, the needs of the people, and the values of the brand that operates there. The result is an interior that embodies calm, light, andhealthy energy — exactly what Takeda brings to the world around it.
