Mib:con new headquarters in Prague’s Roztyly Plaza was created with the ambition to design a workplace that reflects not only the character of a technology company, but above all the people who use it every day. We delivered the project through our Design & Build approach, giving us control over the entire process from the initial strategy to the final handover of the completed space.

From the very beginning, we focused on workplace strategy, an integral part of our approach to creating effective working environments. Our Workplace Consultancy team first analysed the individual teams, their needs and the ways in which they collaborate. The result is a workplace that does not rely on a single universal solution, but instead offers different types of environments for different moments throughout the working day. From open workspaces and quieter zones to areas designed for informal meetings and interaction.

A Workplace Designed Around the Rhythm of Work

Open Space s chodbou

Every team works a little differently, and we wanted the design to reflect precisely this diversity. The foundation of everyday work is a modern open-plan workspace that encourages natural communication within teams.

At the same time, the layout moves beyond conventional office geometry. Rounded edges and flowing lines soften the space, connect individual zones and form one of the defining visual motifs of the entire interior.

The open-plan areas are complemented by spaces designed for quieter, more focused work. Employees have access to acoustic micro-offices and wall-mounted acoustic solutions, which help reduce noise and provide suitable settings for calls, online meetings or tasks requiring greater concentration.

In this way, the workplace strategy is reflected not only in the appearance of the office, but above all in the way it functions on a daily basis.

We did not want to see the new office simply as a change of address. It was important for us to create an environment that would work for different teams and different ways of working. We appreciate that alongside the open workspace, we now also have places for focused work, meetings and informal communication.

 A Natural Counterbalance to a Technology-Driven Environment

Technology is an integral part of Mib:con’s everyday work. We therefore wanted to introduce elements into the interior that would create a calmer, more natural counterbalance to the digital world.

A defining part of the office character is the combination of warm wood finishes, greenery and earthy tones with exposed concrete and the building’s technical aesthetic.

It is precisely this contrast that shapes the atmosphere of the entire interior. The concrete remains exposed, reflecting the industrial character of Roztyly Plaza, while wood, greenery and organic forms soften the environment and give it a more human scale.

Wood appears throughout the interior in a wide variety of forms - from slatted walls and bespoke joinery to the bar and other pieces of furniture. Rounded lines are echoed in both the floor plan and individual details, giving the interior a cohesive and visually connected feel.

The Heart of the Office

The most important social area within the interior is the central community zone featuring a wooden bar, a large communal table and integrated greenery.

It is more than just a place for coffee or lunch. Throughout the day, it acts as the natural centre of the office, where employees from different teams meet, short informal meetings take place and spontaneous interactions can happen.

The community zone is complemented by lounge areas and additional spaces for informal work and meetings. The combination of shared and work-focused zones gives employees the flexibility to change their environment depending on what they need at any given moment.

A distinctive visual landmark within this area is the lighting installation above the communal table, which visually unifies the space and reinforces its role as the main hub of activity.

Bespoke Elements with a Purpose

One of the most distinctive features is the undulating cladding made from vertical timber slats.

It is not merely decorative. Cabinets, storage areas and technical elements are cleverly integrated into the slatted walls, remaining almost invisible at first glance and preserving the clean appearance of the space.

The same principle is applied throughout other parts of the interior. Custom-made elements include built-in wardrobes, personal lockers with colourful niches, the reception desk and a bespoke shelving system wrapping around a concrete column. In this way, the building’s structural constraints become a natural and integral part of the design.

A Space Designed Around People

Mib:con’s new offices demonstrate that a high-quality workplace is not created simply through the selection of materials or furniture. It begins with understanding how people actually work, where they need to collaborate and where, on the other hand, they need peace and focus.

Here, workplace strategy is combined with a strong architectural concept, the contrast between natural materials and concrete, a central community hub and bespoke elements that bring together design and practical functionality.

The result is an environment that reflects Mib:con’s technological character while offering plenty of natural warmth, flexibility and space for people to work effectively every day.
